Rules for UK CHAMPIONSHIPS QUALIFYING HEATS
EVENTS : SOLOS ( MALE & FEMALE), DUOS, TEAMS
Dancers must dance within their age group as stipulated below. Eldest dancer determines the age group duos and teams shall dance in.
Teams can be made up from 8 to 24 dancers and dance a maximum of 2.30 minutes
AGE GROUPS : UNDER 12, UNDER 16 & OVER 16
All dancers are deemed to have their birthdays on January 1st of the year 2007 which means that in under 16 events only dancers who had their 11, 12, 13 & 14th birthdays in 2006 would be eligible for Under 16 event and dancers who celebrated a 15th birthday in 2006 would have to dance over 16’s. Likewise in the under 12 events any dancer who had celebrated their 11th birthday in 2006 would not be eligible for the under 12 event and would therefore have to dance in under 16 event.
GENERAL
At all heats dancers in solos and pairs events will dance in heats of 6 plus dancers and will be selected on a knock out type process with best dancers moving forward to further rounds until the best dancer/dancers in each event is/are selected to move forward to the UK Finals.
Teams will dance individually and the best team from each section will go forward to the UK Finals

RULES ARE ABOVE EXCEPT ...
TEAMS will be allowed to dance a maximum of 3 minutes, and SOLOS & DUOS events will be run under IDO rules with regards to performances and each dancer/dancers will be given a one minute solo performance as part of the knock out type process.
